Meet the Greater Glider

spotlight species

The Greater Glider is Australia’s largest gliding marsupial.
A nocturnal, tree-dwelling species, it relies on old-growth eucalypt forests for food and shelter.
Using a membrane of skin, it can glide up to 100 metres between trees in search of leaves and hollows.

In the Wild

Why It Matters

Highly dependent on mature forests, the Greater Glider is particularly vulnerable to habitat loss. Land clearing, logging, and bushfires have led to significant population declines across its range.
Protecting hollow-bearing trees is critical to the future of this elusive species.

The Story Behind Selatan

Selatan is named after the first tiger I worked with as a zookeeper. She shaped how I understand wildlife care, conservation, and the importance of recognising individuals - not just species. This collection exists in her honour, and as a commitment to protecting wild lives through thoughtful design and support for in-situ conservation.

THE ART OF MAKING MEANING

DESIGN

Inspired by our natural world, each brooch is thoughtfully designed to spark conversations about conservation.

Every brooch begins as a digitally hand-drawn vector illustration - crafted to capture the spirit of each species and the story it tells.

From concept to creation, our designs celebrate connection, care, and the wild beauty that surrounds us.

Materials

Each brooch is made from FSC-certified bamboo, layered with recycled acrylic then finished with a glossy resin coat for lasting shine.

Our materials are chosen to minimise waste, honour natural resources, and reflect our commitment to ethical craftsmanship.

Every layer embodies our belief that beauty and responsibility go hand in hand.

Craftsmanship

Each brooch is brought to life through years of hands-on experience and a deep respect for craftsmanship.

Every step - from laser cutting and sanding to resin finishing and hand assembly is guided by precision, patience, and purpose.

It’s this attention to detail that ensures every piece meets the standard our wildlife deserves.
